Things to do around Jacobsbaai
Swartriet is situated centrally between the Saldanha Nature Reserve, Cape Columbine Nature Reserve and the West Coast National Park where you can witness the best flower displays. Each year from mid-August to mid-September the barren semi-desert landscape erupts into a sea of colour. During this time nature lovers will be joined by visiting European Bee-eaters.
The coastal fynbos supports a variety of wildlife which can best be seen along the 17-km hiking trail that runs between Swartriet and Tietiesbaai.
Southern Right Whales visit from July to November. Swartriet is a paradise for sea lovers and bird watchers and water sport enthusiasts.
